The Nubwa Bag

Delicately made from the Mudukare, the traditional costume of Fulani people of northern descent in Nigeria. This vibrant bag features a bamboo top handle and detachable leather tassles and chain. The Nubwa bag was inspired by delving into the ancestry of the Creative Director’s great-grandmother who was of Fulani descent. It tells the story of family heritage and how we can subtly honour the legacies of those that walked this earth before us, even those we never met.

This bag however, has been named after the mother of a very important team member of Shobikān who sadly passed recently. Part of the proceeds of this bag will be directed towards the development of her local community in Chibok, Borno State of Northern Nigeria.
